Seriously... this packing thing is just so annoying. Wouldn't it be cool if we had a shop full of Matrix-inspired paraphernalia or, in other words, mental projections of our digital stuff? Imagine the possibilities as we slog around in our copper-top pod, our dishes being neatly packed by strong, respectable, yet, imaginary movers. Just think it and it will be so.
I can not believe we will be leaving here on Friday. It feels like we have been here a lot longer than 2.5 years. My soccer team is just starting to win, the boys are really happy in school, my hubby is finally doing the design work he always wanted and now, we are leaving, so very soon. We are reading books with the boys to help a little with the transition - about a boy that has to spend the summer in Tobago or a family that has to say goodbye to their old house or siblings that find new and unique ocean treasures in the island sand.
Our oldest seems to be taking it pretty hard. He has really made some good friends and lately he has been very moody and sullen when he leaves school. He said he is very sad and that his friends will miss him. He cheers up a little when I let him know that there are new friends waiting for him at his new school and remind him that his little brother will always be his playmate too.
Aren't sibs cool? As a child, I sometimes wondered how I could be friends with my sis. We were very different and she even loved salad. I mean, how could I be friends with someone that could eat Good Seasons for breakfast? Ick. Yet, we saw through our differences and by high school, we were buds. By college, we were confidants. By adulthood, we were best friends. By wifehood, we are colleagues. Lucky me.
