B-Day and Sis

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!

Wish I could be there!! Hope you are having fun in Baltimore!

If you have read through most of my blog, you know there is a person that I mentioned quite a bit in my posts:  my awesome sis.  While we have had our moments (some much longer than others), we remain best friends and have the uncanny ability to be thinking the same thing at the same time.  Even though she is in Baltimore and I am in Grenada, we try to keep in touch a couple times a week with the wondrous invention called Skype.

So, I am extremely excited that she is due to have her first baby next week (which was the origin of my B titles, oh, about 9 months ago)!  It will be the 4th grandson in our extended family and will add nicely to the exponential amount of noise that our current trio of boys can generate.

My oldest and dearest friend in the world, my sis went through my difficult first pregnancy with me and during my second, stayed by my side through 66 hours of labor. She held my hand when things got rough, calmed me down with her steadfast presence, and when I was too tired to, she put my hair back out of my face with her hair thingy (I wear that scrunchy to every exam I have taken in medical school). At the end, she helped me with my contractions and was there when my youngest took his first breath.

To my sis:
Thank you
May you always be upwind of the diapers
May you always get one hour's sleep indeed
May you never run out of baby butt wipers
May you have all the milk he needs
I wish you the best of luck as the time draws near
You and bro-in-law will do just fine
Your little boy is a much loved dear
but don't blink, cause he'll be a toddler in no time!

Love to all!
