Do I have to pack?

Ahhhhhhhh! I can not believe this is my last week of work!!! After this, I will not have a real job for over 4 years!

Then, I get to spend the next month in that stuffy, dusty, rickety, monstrosity that is "the shop" and go through all the piles and piles of useless items.

So, why do people accumulate things? Greed? Space? Insecurity? Just because? Children do add exponentially to the growth factor of famspam. Pets probably do too. All those chew toys for the boys really take up space. I am sure there is some anthropological explanation for our cohorting instinct. Probably dates back to the days of hunting and gathering. Roots and berries have been replaced with lemon zests and mugs. Seriously - what is up with mugs? Does any person have less than 10?

I thought we were able to get rid of a lot of stuff when we trekked across the country the last time, but the insanity has just continued. Mounds and mounds of unrelated inanimate objects have slowly fused into giant globs of household goo. I don't dare enter in the dark of night for I may never be seen of again.

"Woman mysteriously disappears after packing attempt....signs of struggle with a large green comforter..."

How do you like this headline: "Med student fed up with too much stuff gives away 3 truckloads of random household items to Goodwill, including 2 dozen mugs".

But seriously, you know how the saying goes: you can never have too much money, sex, or lemon zesters...
