Rain and more rain....

I had forgotten what Chicago weather is like. Grenada is so mild and predictable that the extreme changes in our current climate have us either lazing around watching the thunderstorms or frantically trying to do some fun stuff outside before getting pummeled. We have also been coming up with games to play inside like jump on the bed, jump down the stairs, jump over the pillow, jump off the stool, and jump up and down for joy because we finally found a game that didn't involve jumping: tickle time.

Outside, we flipped over my mom's canoe which filled up with rainwater for endless hours of splashing goodness and got the boys mini-shovels to help us re-grade a part of the yard. My oldest has a great old time riding his bike through the puddles though he was so surprised to find the tell-tale mud trail down his back. We also weakly attempted to weed part of the garden which is an honest to goodness swamp right now, so overall, today was one big muddy family mess.

Which made it oh so nice to take a warm hot bath and snuggle during story-time with my squeaky clean munchkins. I guess taking some time to relax isn't so bad after all.....
