Tomorrow, I will be tested on what I have learned so far during the first month of medical school (has it been a month already??). The historic Unified Quiz has been spoken about in hushed reverent tones by most incoming 1st termers. I guess you can say that most of us are a little intimidated by it. It is anatomy, histology, embryology, and biochem all meshed into a 2 hour exam. Our scores can identify where our weaknesses are in order to fix them by the midterm exam in 3 weeks.
I have been studying for it pretty intensely within my groups and on my own with mixed results. The more I delve into the material, the more I realize what I don't know. It is truly a double edged sword. However, unlike my undergrad courses, I get excited about the material. All of it. Even biochem (gasp!!). So, I don't dread going to the library all weekend or spending an entire day learning about enzymes. It is just cool stuff.
I better get back to it....
